What a crazy year it has been! Moving to full time wedding photography has been a process, but one well worth it. I have been so blessed to have met ALL my clients this year, and can only wait to see what happens in 2012. A good friend said to me once, “2012 will be YOUR year.” Well I believe that, and it shall be!
I started out this year just getting over a horrible robbery, where my entire set of photography equipment was stolen, and I was left with hardly anything. I was lucky enough to have amazing friends/fellow photographers who stepped in to help me out. They know who they are, and I am eternally grateful to them for that!
I have met a lot of new friends throughout this year, and they have become wonderful people to hang with, talk shop, and hopefully in the future go on crazy adventures!
2011 was pretty spectacular, but I’m more looking forward to all the new things in 2012 coming up for my photography, and my life!

I’ve known Alex for just about as I can remember, back to the “play-date” days, so when she called about her wedding photography, I said I was shooting it, no questions asked! John and Alex are great together, and we had a fantastic time doing this E-Session in the west bottoms area of Kansas City.
This has to be the first session I have ever done where we actually STOPPED shooting to go shopping for furniture (or do any shopping,) but it was fantastic and totally Alex’s style. Here are a few images:

Funny story how I met Kangana and Gulshan: I was trying find a renter for my apartment, and Kangana came by to take a look. After discussing the apartment, my normal talkative self found out about her engagement to Gulshan. After a few discussions, we had this awesome engagement session on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in October. Such amazing weather for this time of year! I’m so excited for Gulshan and Kangana, who will be getting married this year in Rajasthan, India! If only I could shoot the wedding!

Last month I had the pleasure of working with Ken Sandhu of Ken Sandhu Photography on a unique but none the less fabulous Indian Catholic wedding. Unique, because it took place in a gorgeous Indian Catholic Church. The couple was SO much fun, Ken and I had a blast shooting them!

Ankit and Archita braved the Chicago wind with me this past weekend for an engagement session along Chicago’s chilly lakefront. Even though the sun was shining, we were all freezing! No matter what though, we prevailed, and came out with some fantastic images!

I had the pleasure of having Shaun and Meredith come out for an engagement session last week here in Chicago. Meredith flew in from Pasadena, where she works for the Tournament of Roses, and I could tell, these two really love the special time they get together. We had a blast going to some fun spots, and completely enjoying the wonderful weather. I look forward to seeing them in September!

I had the privilege of shooting Ari and Sarah Bass’s wedding at the Ivy Room here in Chicago. What a beautiful venue, a truly secret garden smack dab right in the middle of the city! Sarah and Ari were fantastic, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day! Big thanks to Kenny Kim for having me shoot with him, and the incomparable Bob Davis as well!

This year for Chicago’s fashion week, Fashion Focus, I once again donated my services to the lovely community of student designers here in Chicago at Thursday’s “Dress Code” show. Bringing talent from the major design schools, this runway event showcases the future of Chicago fashion and gives young designers a chance to get some experience with runway shows. A big shout out goes to Young Kim of International Academy of Design and Technology for all her hard work!
